America's agricultural policies have remained fundamentally unchanged for nearly three-quarters of a century. The U.S. government continues to subsidize the production of rice, milk, sugar, cotton, peanuts, tobacco, and other commodities, while restricting imports to maintain artificially high domestic prices.

Man oh man isn't this the reason behind just about every bar fight in the westerns you grew up watching? Isn't this the actual reason behind poker being outlawed in the first place? I don't know about you but everytime I find someone cheating at a game my blood boils to the point of reaching for my six shooter!

For the sake of our broader national interest, Congress and the president should reduce, with the ultimate goal of eliminating, all agricultural trade barriers and production subsides.
